AI Interview Agents Guide

Updated 4 days ago

ForceHQ's AI Interview Agents are designed to conduct highly conversational, technical, and behavioral interviews autonomously. They can evaluate candidates objectively and provide deep insights into their capabilities. This guide explains how to manage and configure your AI agents.

1. Creating an AI Agent

Every role requires a different type of interviewer. ForceHQ allows you to create specialized agents for different job functions.

  1. Navigate to the AI Interviewer module from the main navigation menu.
  2. Click on Create New Agent.
  3. Choose a Persona for your agent. The persona dictates the tone and style of the interview. For example, a 'Senior Engineering Manager' persona will ask probing technical questions, while a 'Customer Success Lead' persona will focus on empathy and communication skills.
  4. Upload the Job Description. The AI will automatically parse the requirements and suggest core competencies to evaluate.

2. Setting Up Interview Rubrics

A well-defined rubric is essential for accurate and objective scoring.

In the Agent Configuration page, navigate to the Evaluation Rubric tab. Here, you can define exactly what the AI should listen for.

  • Add Competencies: Add specific skills (e.g., 'React.js', 'System Architecture', 'Conflict Resolution').
  • Define Scoring Criteria: For each competency, provide examples of a 1-star (poor) response versus a 5-star (excellent) response. The more detailed your criteria, the more accurately the AI will score candidates.
  • Weighting: Assign weights to different competencies to reflect their importance for the role.

3. Configuring Question Banks

While the AI agent is capable of generating dynamic questions based on the candidate's responses, providing a baseline question bank ensures consistency across all interviews for a specific role.

Under the Question Bank tab, you can input mandatory questions that the AI must ask during the interview. You can also provide "Context Files" (like a codebase snippet or an architecture diagram) that the AI can present to the candidate to discuss during the technical portion of the interview.

4. Monitoring Bias and Fairness

ForceHQ is committed to fair hiring practices. Our platform includes built-in bias monitoring tools.

Access the Analytics & Fairness dashboard to review aggregate scoring data across demographic groups. The system will alert you if it detects a statistically significant variance in pass rates. You can then review the transcripts to ensure the AI's questioning and scoring remain perfectly objective.

5. Reviewing Transcripts and Reports

After an interview is completed, a comprehensive report is generated within minutes.

  • Executive Summary: A brief overview of the candidate's performance, highlighting major strengths and red flags.
  • Detailed Transcript: A full, timestamped transcript of the conversation. You can click on any part of the transcript to listen to the corresponding audio snippet.
  • Competency Breakdown: A visual chart showing how the candidate scored against the specific rubric you defined in step 2.

By leveraging AI Interview Agents effectively, you can screen candidates 10x faster while actually improving the quality and depth of your initial technical screens.
