ForceHQ provides a robust engine for creating custom assessments, complete with online code editors, hands-on labs, and advanced proctoring capabilities. This guide covers how to deploy secure and effective assessments.
1. Creating Custom Assessments
You can create assessments from scratch or use templates from our extensive Test Library.
- Go to Assessments > Creator.
- Click New Assessment.
- Add Sections: An assessment can have multiple sections. For instance, Section 1 could be Multiple Choice Questions, Section 2 could be a Coding Challenge, and Section 3 could be a Personality Test.
- Configure Time Limits: Set strict time limits for the entire assessment or for individual sections.
- Publish: Once finalized, publish the assessment to make it available for candidate assignment.
2. Enabling Advanced Proctoring
To ensure the integrity of your assessments, especially for high-stakes technical roles, you can enable our AI-driven proctoring features.
In the Assessment Settings, navigate to the Proctoring tab and toggle on the features you require:
- Browser Lockdown: Prevents candidates from opening new tabs, copying/pasting text, or using right-click context menus during the test.
- Webcam Monitoring: Periodically captures images from the candidate's webcam to verify identity and ensure no unauthorized individuals are assisting them.
- Screen Recording: Records the candidate's screen during the coding portion of the assessment to review their exact workflow and problem-solving process.
- Audio Monitoring: Detects background voices or suspicious audio cues.
3. Anti-Cheat Features for Coding Tests
Our online code editor includes specific anti-cheat mechanisms designed for software engineering assessments.
- Code Plagiarism Detection: The system automatically cross-references submitted code against massive public repositories (like GitHub) and previously submitted candidate solutions to detect plagiarism.
- Keystroke Analytics: We analyze the candidate's typing speed and patterns. A massive block of complex code appearing instantaneously may flag a copy-paste event from an external source, even if browser lockdown was bypassed.
4. Reviewing Candidate Reports
Once a candidate completes an assessment, a detailed report is immediately generated.
Go to the Candidate Pipeline and click on a candidate's profile to view their assessment report. You will see:
- Overall Score: A percentage score based on test performance.
- Skill Breakdown: A granular look at their proficiency in specific areas (e.g., Data Structures vs. Algorithms).
- Proctoring Trust Score: A crucial metric indicating the integrity of the test session. A high score means no suspicious activity was detected.
5. Understanding Proctoring Flags
If the Proctoring Trust Score is low, the system will highlight specific "Flags" for human review. These may include instances where the candidate looked away from the screen for extended periods, or where a secondary monitor was detected. Administrators can review the flagged screenshots or video snippets directly in the dashboard and make a final determination regarding the validity of the assessment.
